Change from H1B to any other visa after completion of 6 years.

Hi All,

I am on H1B visa. I completed 6 years and I am in 7th year extension.

I plan on resigning from my current job. I would like to know, if I can switch my visa from H1B to H4(dependent on my wifes H1B) or F1.

Or please suggest any other way by which i can stay in US legally.

H1+H4 = Max 6 years

You may change to F1 without any problem. But you have to study full time.

If you have green card application pending, you may renew beyond 6 years. Look at https://www.immihelp.com/h1-visa-ext...-years-in-usa/
