My H1 and wife's H4 visa stamping expired in Jul 2013 and we both have the renewed I797s with us. If we travel to India is it necessary to go for stamping or can we enter with renewed I797s? No change in employer.

Are there any complications that we should be aware of? Suggestions.. please help!

There is nothing called POE visa stamping .

You cannot re enter US with only a I797, you need a valid visa in passport. If you travel to India, you need to go for fresh visa stamping, by filling form DS-160, going for OFC appointment, and attending Visa interview, for each of the interviewee.

Complications arise only for those who have had status gaps, no pay stubs, multiple layers between the client and employee etc.
