  • H1 to H4 COS while in US

    Please let me know what are needed documents for changing from H1 status to H4.

    Is it possible to be done by me or do need a attorney help for filing it.

    You can do it by filing form I539.

        Check USCIS link for details:

        The following groups use this form: Certain nonimmigrants extending their stay or changing to another nonimmigrant status; CNMI residents applying for an initial grant of status; F and M nonimmigrants applying for reinstatement; and, Persons seeking V nonimmigrant status or an extension of stay as a V nonimmigrant.

          My husband started GC process, right now his i140 is approved.
          I didnt start any GC process

          Should I answer yes to them
          Are you or any other person included on the application, an applicant for an immigrant visa?
          Has an immigrant petition ever been filed for you or for any other people included in this application?
