Background:
F1 visa stamped in 2000. Refused in first attempt, appeared after 3 working days and got stamped
Completed BS & MBA from US. (was in India for almost 2 years in between)
OPT 2007 - 2008
H1 2008 - 2011. Came back to India in Sept 2010, because of family emergency but worked remotely till March 2011.
H1 never stamped.
Current h1 petition cap exempt
OFC appointment 3/9
US delhi embassy appointment on 4/9
Appointment at 8.30. Reached at 8 am.
Entered embassy premises at 8.15.
Me: Good morning
VO: Good morning
VO:Please give me your Passport(797 stapled)
Me: handed over
VO: so your visa was refused once
Me: Yes, when I appeared for the first time for F1
VO: But you got it after wards right?
Me: yes mam, appeared after 3 working days with more supporting documents and was approved
VO: So where are you going in US?
Me: **** ***( client location),
VO: So you are not going to your employer's location first?
Me: No ma'am, my client needs my services asap, (project starting date mentioned as 2nd sep. in client letter) tried to forward client letter to her but she gestured that she doesn't need it.
VO: So how long were in US?
Me: 3.5 years on F1, 1.5 years on OPT & 2.5 years on H1.
VO:Where did you completed your masters from?
Me: **** * university.
VO: married?
Me: yes.
VO: kids?
Me: 2
VO: US citizens?
Me: my younger one is.
VO: they are not travelling with you?
Me: not right now, but will join me later.
VO: R you going back to same company?
Me: Yes ma'am, same company and same client.
VO: What did you do when you came to India?
Me: I did not work for a few months and then for YYYY for ** years and not at YYY from ** date.
VO: So you did'nt work for the same company in India?
Me: no ma'am.
VO: we need to ask you a few more questions, please be seated and we will call you soon.
Me: sure.
I went to the bench and she got up from her seat and took my passport along, as if she went to consult something with somebody.
Hardly a minute passed and she re-appeared from back and called me.
Me: is everything ok ma'am?
VO: we need 2-3 days to investigate further.
I tried to give client letter saying my client is Fortune 500 company she refused to take any documents saying that she does not need any document.
VO: you can take your passport if you need it in next 2-3 days or else you can leave it here.
Me: Would you keep original 797 too.
VO: Yes, we need few more days to investigate
Me: do you need any other documents? I have them all
VO: No I don't, we will get back to you shortly.
Me: Thank you
and left confused.
Checked the status online. It said administrative processing, updated date 4/9. Checked today again but the updated date was changed to 5/9.
Anybody, any opinions??
