Delay with entry to US after H1B received

My first H1B was approved starting Oct 1, 2014, but due to a number of reasons I will need to start working only in the first quarter of 2015. Questions:

1. If I go to the embassy now to receive my H1B, for how long can I delay an entry to US after I get it?
2. I also have B1/B2 now - if I get H1B in the embassy, can I continue travel to US for short trips on B1/B2 without stamping H1B until 2015?

1. Till visa end date/job/petition end date whichever is earlier.
2. Yes you can travel on B1/B2.
