Cap exemption H1b

I had a H1b visa back in 2011. I understand that I am cap exempt for the following 6 years. I am currently under H4 and am planning to get back to work, but under a different field and different Job responsibilities. Eg: I was an IT professional and now I'm planning to shift to Electrical engineering jobs. Will the cap exemption still be valid for me or will it change as the LCA is completely different?

An new LCA as well as an amedment would have to be filed.
