I-94 extension question:

How long does it take to receive the I-94 hard copy in either email or mail, once the I-94 extension is approved by USCIS. Does it help if it is premium processing or premium processing just covers the decision taking time and paperwork always takes weeks.

My driver's license is expired and I need new I-94 to get it extended. I went to DMV with receipt notice but they said they need an approved I-94.

The status on USCIS website changed today from "Initial Review" to "Decision" and it is showing as approved. I just want to know, how long it will take before I receive my new I-94. Does USCIS first sends it in email and then sends the paperwork OR is it only the paperwork?

I had this same issue few years back and when I went to the DMV with the receipt they gave me a temporary license for 60 days (the one in paper). This was MO DMV and they did call their DMV headquarters to confirm whether they can give me license with a receipt. My extension was done in PP and I got the actual I-94 within 1 week to 10 days I think.

I would recommend to try again with the DMV even though rules from state to state differs. Good luck!
