H1B duration while L1B at hand

Hi members,

I have a question. I have L1B valid from May/2014 to May/2017. I came back to India on July 2014 due to personal reasons.

In case my employer files H1B in Apr/2014, in case it gets approved, what will be it's duration, considering an ideal duration of 6 years.
I ask this question because I heard there is a rule that in case the person has spent time previously on L1, that duration is counted towards the max. allowed duration of the H1.

You mean apply H1 in April 2015. You may not get entire 6 years, maybe 5 years and 9 Months as you already spent 3 months in L1 status.
