On L1 going to H1

Hi,

I am currently in US on a L1 visa from company A. Meanwhile I have also got my H1 processed by company B. To have this H1 Visa stamped do I have to go back to India ? And do I have to get it stamped at a particular location in India ?

There is every chance that the US consulates at the borders will redirect you back home. If you intend to continue in US then you can straightaway start working for the H1B employer without the Visa stamping if your change of status has been approved. But if your H1b petition has been approved as a new petition from India, then you need to travel back and get the H1B visa stamped on the passport to actually begin employment.
