I got my H1 approved in the cap in 2012. The approval was till Sept 2015 (3 years), my visa also reflects the same (valid till Sept 2015). I came to the US however on an amended H1-B petition which was valid from Oct 2013 to Nov 2014. I applied for extension of that amended petition and got approved till July 2017. Now considering my Visa is still valid till Sept 2015 (from an earlier petition), do i need to go for stamping if i visit India in Dec and fly back by Jan / Feb ? Does the existing visa gets void after the extension is approved, warranting a new stamp if I go outside the US ?
