Hi Friends,
I need some clarification on status change. Let me explain the situation here and please provide your suggestions/comments.
1. I am on a L1 visa from Jan 2005 and working here.
2. I had applied for H1 through a consultant as a FRESH H1 & got the approval notice in Oct 2005.
3. I took an appointment at Chennai in Feb 2006 for H1 stamping thinking I can go back to India in Dec 2005 /Jan 2006.
The problem is, now my company (L1) wants me to be here till end of next year. But, I want to change my status to H1 (I thought I can come after Feb with H1 stamping, my company ppl not allowing me to go :-()...
So now,
Can I apply for status change with the 'Fresh H1 approval notice'. If it is possible when can I start working on H1.
Please consider this as urgent request......
