Query = Studying while on a H1B Visa

Hello,
I am currently on a H1b visa for the first term of 3 years which expires on Jul 2017.
I plan on quitting my current job for pursuing my Masters degree starting Aug 2016. Which means I have to convert to a F1 for 2 years.
Question -
After I complete my 2 years course(2017-18) will I be able to use the H1B number that I am currently working with? since I believe the period of a H1B lasts for 6 years? OR will I have to compete for the lottery all over again?

Could you please guide me on this?

Yes, You can recapture those remaining days/months/years.

6 years count applicable only for the period utilized either on L1 or H1.

Are you saying if I work for 2 years now and then move to F1 for 2 years, then at the end of my study period I still will have 4 years of my H1B to utilize? Please suggest.
