J1 while waiting for H1B?

I am in this situation: I have a E2 Visa and I am looking to change job.
The E2 Visa is not a trasnferable Visa.

Assuming a company would be interested in hiring me, what are the options available in my case?
Getting a J1 while applying for the H1B and hoping to get it?
