H1B visa without relavant field of study.

Hi

I am presently working as a software engineer in the US under L1 visa, I have a job offer from another company (same job description) and my future employer would be filing for H1B this year. The only problem I have a bachelor's in Mechanical engineering. I went through the requirements but its not clear whether I will be eligible for applying. I have ~ 3.6 years of experience with my current employer. Any help would be appreciated.

Its not that non CS Engineers do not get H1. It all depends on the job description for the position for which H1 is being requested.

Thanks for your reply. The job description is almost exactly same as my current job, but it my bachelor's isn't relevant to the Job that I am applying for.
