We are a small non-profit educational institution with an employee that is in his 6th year of H1B visa expiring next month. I've just moved into a position at the company where I've been made aware of the situation, and it appears the "ball has been dropped" with helping him move toward a green card so we can keep him as an employee. Now we're looking into what our options are, if any, to keep him as an employee or at least get him back within a few months. We cannot afford to wait a year. Can anyone help me figure out what our options are, including any "out of the box" options? Any help or contacts of savvy attorneys is greatly appreciated.
