Hi,
I completed my Masters in CS in USA in 2014 and currently working on OPT.
My OPT is expiring on Aug 2015.
As my employer is not willing to sponsor H1B for me, I am currently looking for other employer who will sponsor my H1B.
Once I apply for OPT extension, I will have Aug 2015 + 17 months = (January 2017) to get H1B.
But as I can only apply in April, I think i have only 2 chances to apply (April 2015 and April 2016).
My questions are as follows:
1. If I get an employer by March 15/April 1, will it be possible for my employer to send petition ASAP (before 5 April). I mean does any employer do that or do they take time for new employees?
2. If i lose chance to apply on April 2015, that means I have got only 1 chance on April 2016 to apply for H1B. If rejected, I need to go back to home country. Is this correct?
3. What are the chances that employer will be applying for my H1B on April 2017, even though I am in India?
I am afraid because I have only sure chance on April 2016 now and considering the lottery system there are chances that I may not get it.
