Leaving USA while H4 to H1B COS is in process

Hi ,

Currently I am in US on a H4 VISA . My employer will be applying for an H4 to H1B COS through normal process on April 1st .
I want to travel to India on June 1st and come back in mid July , 2015 .

Will this travel effect my petition ?
If yes , How exactly?
