H4 to H1 and back to H4 please help

my wife came to US on H4 and applied for H1 in 2012 but H1 got approved on Oct 2014 but she is not start to work for the H1 company yet. What status is she in now H4 or H1, if it is H1 what we need to do to convert back to H4

Was H4 to H1 applied as Chaneg Of Status, if it got approved did it come with new I-94? If yes, then your spouse is on H1 and as not working and not getting paid she is out of status. In order to get back into H4 status she has to leave US and return on H4 visa.
