How long before the H1B visa expiry date can we enter the US

Hi,

Both my H1B VISA and the petetion expires on 2nd week of september 2015. I read the previous threads and understood that expiry date on I-94 is the actual final date that one can stay in the US. So if the officer at the POE gives the same date as my petetion expiry date.. then

1) How long before can I enter US?
2) Can I apply for my VISA extension staying in India?
3) If I am traveling in June 2015 will there be a problem at POE?

Please respond. Based on this I have to take a decision on when to travel.

You can apply for extension 6 months before the expiry period. You can travel back and forth before Sep 2015. Why not apply for extension next month and once you get the approval, you will be stress-free.

I dont think you can apply for extension while in India. (your company lawyer would be the best to get that info)
