Need details H1B application revoke

Hi

I have valid H1B visa from Sep 2012 to Sep 2015 and stayed in US only for 1 year for project work. I need to go back to India due to personal reasons. So my employer is not going to apply for extension.

In this case, in future if I want to come after September 2015, then what I need to do. Can I revoke my expired H1B any time after September 2015 or do I need to apply for H1 B fresh application and go through lottery process?

Initially I got 3 years visa and in that I stayed only for 1 year.

Any U.S employer can file a new H1B petition for you using the CAP from your existing H1B approval notice. You don't need to go through CAP (quota) again. This can be done anytime.
