H1B amendment

Hi ,

I am an H1B associate and working for client A1 in B1 city for my employer.My H1B will expire on October 30,2015.So already I applied for extension and it is currently pending with USCIS . But currently I have to move to B2 city for A2 client .

1. What is the procedure for doing so ?

2. Is there any complexity if employer files the amendment while the visa extension is in progress with USCIS?

Trying to amend a pending H1B petitions has at times ended up in rejections since the initial I-129 filed is for a different work location and client when compared to the new material change (To amend a petition, you will need a new approved LCA). USCIS seem to treat it differently when the amendment is filed based on an approved petition. One option is to convert the pending H1B petition to premium and get the result faster and then file the amendment (But premium processing is suspended until the last week of July). You should talk to your company attorney and figure out what they suggest. Find attached a sample rejection letter for this cause.
