  • Would USCIS return original form I-129 to employer for approved petitions?

My H1b petition has been approved and I'm preparing for visa stamping. Only here (https://www.immihelp.com/h1-visa-stamping-documents/) I saw 'Original form I-129 and one copy' in the document checklist. I was in an assumption that USCIS will return original petition, form I-129, only for non-selected petitions. For approved petitions they will send hard copy of approval form which is I-797. My employer got this, and when checked with Attorney, he said employer can have only softcopy of form I-129 after petition approval.
Any idea why immihelp says original for I-129 is required?

Original I-129 will be with USCIS. A soft copy of form I-129 and LCA are enough for stamping. Advisable to carry your original approval notice (I-797) instead of a soft copy.
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
