Married to Single status need to change in Passsport for visa extension

Hi ,

I am in H1B .I have recently got divorce and my passport has marital status as married and my ex-wife's name.
My visa extension is due next month ,do I need to change my passport before applying for visa extension ?

It is not mandatory for the H1B extension.
