I-94 extension after passport renew

Hi All,

My I-94 is going to expire in couple of months but VISA (H1B) is valid for next 2 years, so planning to extend it.
Please reply with your suggestions / Tips to extend it?

I am currently in Arizona.

First get your passport renewed.

Next try visiting CBP deferred inspection post at a nearby international airport. They may be able to extend I-94.

If that does not work you have two options. You must do one of the two before your I-94 expires.
1. Employer files amendment to extend your status.
2. You leave the US and return to get a new I-94. If the Visa in your passport is still valid on the date of return, you will not need a new Visa.
