221g blue form issued because system wasn't able to retrieve information

Hello all,

Attended h1b visa interview on 24th August. Interview went on well but visa officer wasn't able to retrieve my petition details from system.He took my passport and copy of I-797B and issued form 221g blue with only case number written on it. Need info when visa process will be complete

But in my 221g form only case number is mentioned. There is no information about additional documents which i need to submit

221g doesn't always mean that they need additional documents. It could be that they need to do some additional processing on your case based on the documents that you already submitted or your information is missing on their PIMS system and they have requested USCIS to upload your documents to PIMS. There is nothing much you could do other than to wait. If the 221g is for missing info in PIMS, then it will not take much time.

I m also faced the same issue in chennai consulate today. Gave 221g slip with just marked as admin processing due to some issue in retrieving petition from their system.. Not sure how long it will take to get our passport back

Hi Shiva.. though I didn't get the slip (it was verbally approved by the Visa officer in new delhi on 24th August), I did face the similar issue where my VO was unable to see my fingerprints on her system.
On ceac site, case is showing under Administrative Processing.

Got any update? Not sure who else faced the same issue.
