L1 to H4 status change

Hi,
Current Status L1B valid till 2007 from Company A.
Spouse is on H1 valid till oct 2006, from Company B

Please let me know what is the procedures for changing my visa status to H4.
Do I need to go back to India for this status change?
When my spouse get H1 extension, will the H4 status also gets extended.

You can do it from US itself.

Just have to file Form I-539, /show-form/i-539

When your husband applies for H1 extension, he should apply for your H4 status change (or H4 extension if already applied for H4 separately before that).

Hi

You need to file for COS while ur in the US and remember u cant work. When wife attempts to get her visa you need to get ur h4 stamping (only if you travel out of the US. Otherwise you can still stay legally in the US with the approval of H4 Change of Status.
