DS 160 has Chennai as US Consulate but going to Hyderabad for interview, Any issue?

Hi,

I am currently in US, and will be travelling to India in Nov '15 for vacation.

when i submitted my DS 160, i had selected Chennai consulate as the place of interview (which is also my work location). My employer had also scheduled the interview with the same consulate, but it was changed to Hyderabad location as it is more convenient for me to go there for the interview.

Now, my Visa interview has been re-scheduled to Hyderabad i was wondering if having Chennai consulate in DS 160 be any problem while attending the interview in Hyderabad?

Can i change to consulate location from Chennai to Hyderabad on my existing DS 160?
If not, do i need to fill in a new DS 160 and carry with me during the interview at Hyderabad?

My employer thinks it will not be an issue, but advised me to also carry a new DS 160 just in case the office inquire about the discrepancy. Any thoughts?

Should not be an issue. However, it is advisable to fill a new DS160 and carry it with you when you go for bio-metrics. They can change it there. You can also carry the new Ds160 when you go for the visa interview.

So long as you generate a new DS160 with the Hyderabad consulate selected, you shouldn't have any issue. Just let the biometric officers know that you need to use the new and updated DS160. They place a barcode sticker with the DS160 code on the back of the passport. Make sure this reflects the new DS160. Good luck and let us know how it turned out.
