H4 status after H1B employer is changed

Hi, I am on H1B visa right now that is valid until Sep 2016. My wife got her H4 this year January and came here. I changed my employer in May 2015, and my new H1B petition is approved till 2018. My new employer didn't apply for my wife's H4. Is it valid? Her H4 was applied when I was with previous employer. I am planning to visit India in Nov and get our visas stamped based on new approval notice. Please advise if my wife's status is valid.

It is valid. You changing employer has nothing to do with her H4 status since H4 is not associated with any of your employers. As long as you are in H1B (irrespective of the employer) and her H4 I-94 is valid, she is in valid H4 status.
