H4 related question for Chennai Consulate

Hello,
I am on a H1-B visa in the US and plan to get married in India in August. Since the appointments are getting filled up, I need to book an appointment for my fiancee and myself now.

I have the following questions and can somebody please answer them:

1. If I book an appointment now and add my fiancee's passport number to my appointment, is it OK? Do I need to be married first before adding her to my appointment?

2. I plan to go to Chennai consulate for my visa stamping. My permanent residence is Bangalore. Do I need to send documents in advance to the Chennai Consulate before the interview or just carry them myself on the day of appointment? I know that people living in Pune send their documents in advance to the Mumbai consulate.

Hi,
You can make the appointment now using her passport. You can make the appointment in her maiden name and even get the visa issued in the same name, not a problem. For the Chennai Consulate, you just have to carry all documentation on the date of interview.
