Can I have H4 and L1 at same time?

Dear Friends ,

This is my current situation
1. I am on L1A and valid till may 2016.
2. My 140 is approved.
3. My Spouse is on H1 and got her 140 approved.
4. I would like to apply H4 and EAD same time so that by the time my L1 expires , I can continue with my current employer with my H4 EAD


My Questions are
1. Is it legal to have both L1 and H4 (including EAD) at the same time?
2. Can I change my status and work on EAD in the same company once my L1 expires to continue my employment ?

>>> You won't be in L1 once H4 gets approved. You cannot be in two status at the same time.

>>> You have to file the H4 as a COS from L1. Once H4 gets approved, you will no longer be in L1 status. Once H4 gets approved, you can begin working only after the EAD gets approved.
