Getting referral rebates allowed for F1

Hi,

I have been using sites like ebates and have earned referral rebates/cashbacks.

So wanted to know if:

1. Making money through referrals is legal on h1b. If yes, then is their any limit on it (eg. less than 500$)?
2. How about the credit card joining bonuses? eg. Chase freedom gives 200$ rewards on spending 1000$ in first three months. Is this too allowed.
