H1B VISA stamping and passport renewal

Hi,

* I am going to India on Feb 2016 and i need to get my H1B extension VISA stamped while i come back. My Passport expires on June 2016. I have not applied for its renewal yet.
* Is it possible to go ahead with my DS 160 and VISA interview appointment with my old passport information now and still renew my passport before going to India? Will this affect my VISA stamping?

Appreciate your help/suggestions.

You need your updated passport information in DS160 if you will have a new one by that time. DS160 once submitted cannot be modified. Talk to the help desk to figure out of you can update it at a later time. If you go with your old passport, then your visa will be issued only till the old passport expiry date.
