h4-visa administrative processing!

My spouse and child attended a H4 visa interview with Chennai Consulate on 29/11/2015 and 30/11/2015. They have been issued with Blue form 221(g) stating " Your application requires additional adminitrative processing before a final decision can be made" . They have retained my wife's and child's passport.

The reason they gave during the interview was that they were unable to find my petition details in their system and they would want to check the details again. Hard copy of my petition copy is provided to them as well during the interviewed i.

Any idea how long would it take?

VO told me it would take close to 3-5 days.anyone in the same situation?

if it was just an issue of PIMS then it should typically be resolved within a week.

H4 visa on hold with 221(g) white sheet

I went for the H4 visa interview in Delhi consulate on 2-dec-2015. But they gave a white 221(g) sheet stating that i need to get added myself in my husband's H1B petition and gave back my passport. Previously, i have travelled to US on B1 visa in january 2015. Same year, my H1B petition was also filed through my company but i resigned because of marriage. Could this be the reason of putting my visa on hold?

Also, could someone please suggest on how to get my self added in my husband's petition.

Can i apply for a new application as they have returned my passport.
