H1 -> PERM approved -> Applying for i140, spouse on L1A

Hi,

I am on L1A in 6th year. My wife is on H1, PERM approved and ready to apply i140.

We want to take advantage of H4 EAD by converting my L1A onto H4.

Question is :
1. Can we apply i140 for my wife first and then apply for my H4 and then EAD?
2. or is it necessary for me to first get converted to H4, to include my name in my wife's i140 application.

Please advise.
