Hi there,
I have a question regarding the effectiveness of H1B if one goes back to school and makes a career change.
If I did a STEM major and was lucky enough to get H1B visa to work in tech industries and after working for some years I want to make a career change and go to law school for a JD degree, after my graduation from law school, will I still be able to work on H1B visa (even if it's not in a stem industry)? Or, do I need to work under OPT and reapply for the H1B visa? I had someone tell me that once you are under H1B visa, you will eligible to work in the U.S for 5 to 6 years even if you change employers. So just here to verify this.
Your inputs are appreciated!
