2006 approved H1B petition

I am from India. I have an approved H1B petition. It was approved in 2006. Its valid from 10/24/2006 to 09/30/2009. I didn't go for the visa stamping. Recently I came to know that it can be revived under CAP exempt. A new I-797 will be issued in place of old one. Has anyone got such a petition revived? Is it possible to revive petition of 2006?

The petition was filed nearly 10 years back, I don't think it is possible to re use it as H1 cap is valid only for 6 Years.
