H1 filed by employer, selected in lottery but did not process

Hi All,
My employer filed my H1B visa in May 2014 and application approved by US embassy... you know that there is quota... when the quota exceeds, embassy selects the applications for processing. others are not considered as rejected... However due to business reasons they did not proceed it further. I would like to know if I (on my own) can take this ahead with the help of any private agent? Any suggestion in this regard would be helpful. Thanks
