  • I-94 While visiting Canada via Land

    Folks

H1 visa stamped on my passport is from my previous employer (which is still valid). My current H1 petition is with my new employer with I-94 attached. I have a planned short trip (3-4 days) to Canada via Land border. My parents (on visitor visa with digital I94) are also joining us.

    Questions:
    1. Where will I surrender my I94?
    2. While entering back, do i have to explicitly mention to the Officer that I have a new petition with a new employer while my visa is from my previous employer?
    3. Will I get a new I94 while entering back?
    4. What happens to my parents' I94?

    5. Is there any other thing that I have to care about?

Generally for such short visits the I-94 is not taken/renewed at the Border.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
