Travel Outside US while amendment is in progress

My visa got expired in Dec 2015 and extension got approved on 5th Feb 2016. Now my client got changed but employer is the same. My amendment has been filed 2 days back and I have the receipt notice. Following is the situation:
The stamped visa is expired but I have extension approval notice. I have amendment receipt notice but the same is in progress. Can I travel back to India, get my visa stamped based on extension approval notice and enter USA while this amendment is in progress?
