H4 traveling while H1 still in India

Can an H4 dependent spouse travel to US while the H1 principal is outside? Has anyone done this recently?

Typically not recommended. Has H1 in past been into US or will it be first time travel? Is H1 on vacation? Whats the work history been for H1 in US? Whats the time gap between H4 travel and H1 travel?
