H1 transfer with H1 extension receipt # from previous employer

Hi,

My H1 extension has been filed by my current employer a month back, they haven't got the H1 receipt (filing receipt) yet .I got another job now.So I wanted to know whether I can transfer my H1 visa to new employer with the h1 extension receipt # and other documents.
Note: I don't have the H1 receipt, only have H1 receipt #.

Merely joining on the basis of receipt number was not advisable. Yes, you can file the "transfer" again, but it will be treated based upon the outcome of current one.
