I am an Indian citizen who came to US in F1 visa for doing my MS. I completed my first semester (fall) and it is my second semester which started on 7th of January 2006. On the 20th of January, 2006 I got my H1 approved (it doesn’t contain I-94 with the approval) which I had filed before coming to US. So I decided not to take any courses this semester and convert my status in to H1. Now my question is, shall I able to work in the company in H1 status with out getting H1 visa stamped? If not, what are the procedures for me to change my status without going back to India?
