H1 B - Activated

I have h1 b issued couple of years but never made it to US for personal reasons.

now i would like travel to US but not for work rather for visit (along with family).
Do i have to apply for visit visa while i hold H1. If so what will happen to H1b? Will it be cancelled?

BTW: I also have valid B1 visa

You cannot visit US on H1 visa. You need a B2 visa. Check the B1 visa stamp, if it says B1/B2 then you can use it to visit.
