H1-B Extension - Travel To India

Hi,

1. I have my visa stamped till 05-Sep-2017
2. In 2015 my employer applied for amendment, I received a new petition valid till 14-July-2016
3. My employer has filed for H1-B extension now.
4. I am planning to travel to India on Jun-15/2016 and return back on July 10/2016
5. Is it safe to travel while the extension is in process.
6. Or I have to wait for my petition to be approved.
