Hello everyone,
Here is my case : I came to the US in 2013 on an H4 visa. After a year, I applied for COS from H4 to F1 in the US without visiting my home country. After graduation, I obtained F1 OPT EAD and have been working (without pay) at the university for the last 7 months while seeking employment. My F1 OPT EAD is expiring in January 2017. But since my husband and I are working on moving to Canada in the near future, we would like to travel to our home country this year end and get stamping to secure re-entry to the US for the subsequent moving process (Husband: H1B and myself: regular H4; giving up my F1 OPT status).
{Additional info: GC/i140 - N/A. F1 stamping in passport-No. Previous H4 stamping- Yes, in 2013. Traveling out of the US for the first time in 3 years}.
Questions:
[1] Does my situation require a different procedure?
[2] What is the procedure and what documents maybe required for my conversion from F1 OPT EAD to regular H4/stamping?
