  • H4 EAD Start Date error

    Hi,

My Spouse H4 EAD is approved on Aug 29, 2016. We received the card in mail and the valid start date on the card is 07/22/18 (Jul 22 2018) and card expiry date is 09/19/2018 (my H1 valid date).

On what basis the start date is determined?
Should the start date be same as the date application is approved?
What should we do now to get this corrected?
How long will this process take?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
Seems to be a mistake. Take an infopass appointment and let the officer know. They should be able to correct it and issue a new one. Its not going to be immediate.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

This is a common mistake USCIS is making
Yours is fifth case I am seeing with same error of putting 201 date
Please get it correct using infopass and also let your congressman know about it http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/
You should also report this to https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance to expedite
