Amendment pending status and Visa Validity

My amendment was filed on 02/11/2016 and still is in pending status (as on 09/22/2016). 10/03/2016 would be my 240th day since my amendment has been filed. Currently as per my I-94, admit until date is 06/10/2017. I am worried what would be my VISA status after 10/03/2016. have
Please advice on below:

1. Does the 240 day rule valid for amendment applications.
2. Will I have a valid work status after 10/03/2016 as per 240 day rule.

I am out of the current assignment and in process of moving to another assignment. Currently on bench.

How is that going to prevent from getting application upgraded to premium? Isnt the amendment for the new assignment?
