Confused about H1 Stamping

Hey Guys ,

I did my Masters here in US and gladly done with it now . So for a year and half I am on H1B , haven't gone for stamping till date , I am kinda confused about like when to go for stamping,hope some one answers my question

H1B valid till ---2008 October
F1 expires ----July 2006

Now is it must that before my F1 Visa expires I got to go for H1B stamping ??? What are the Pro's n con's any info in detail shall be greatly appreciated
