Doubt regd 7th yr extension and H4

Hi Friends,

I have filed my 7th yr extension couple of months back.My wife's H4 is valid till April 15.
My attorney has told me not to worry since i have filed my 7th yr extension in time and thus she is legally able to stay in the US even if the extension is not approved by that time.My present H1B is valid till july.
Have anyone of you have gone thru this situation or have any idea.
