  • i 94 expiring no 2016

    Hi, please share your experience on i 94 renewal

    first h1b
    stamping done in india
    visa expires 2018
    passport expiry date end of nov 2016
    i 94 expiry date end of nov2016
    got new passport now

    im in boston.. what should i do plz guide me
    my number 5105162041

    plz some one reply asap.

    First contact the nearest CBP office and check if they would extend the I-94.
    If they would not do it, then you have two options, either file I-94 extension using form I129 (which can take 2-4 Months under normal processing) or leave US and re enter.

      do need visas don't have much time

        I doubt going by road to Canada border and re entering would get you a new I-94.

              travel outside US

              A friend's wife had a similar situation as her passport was expiring & had exact same date for I-94 but H4 visa valid for another 2 years. After passport renew They tried to reach out to USCIS & CBP teams. Both passed them to each other and this continued for over 3 weeks.

              At the end they were advised to travel outside the US (preferably home country) and especially not to Canada/Maxico and re-enter to get new I-94.

              This is based on one case I know off, suggest you to discuss with an attorney.
